The Yarram show committee have made the extremely difficult but inevitable decision to cancel this year’s event. There were many contributing factors including sponsorship, volunteers, guidelines for continuing the event to ensure social distancing and hygiene and the reality of the health risk for our volunteers and the general community. We were given little choice with current restrictions and the reality of enforcing and monitoring these, we have joined most of the other Gippsland Shows in cancelling, including the Royal Melbourne Show. With our limited workforce and considering most of our volunteers fall within the vulnerable category meant we had to make the responsible decision. We are committed to looking at other options once restrictions are eased and would like to reassure our district that the 2021 Yarram AG Show will make up for the break.

On a positive note - the 2020 On Farm Dairy Cow Challenge will continue with the ongoing support of the Yarram Herd Services. MORE INFO TO COME.

We hope to have our new Exhibition Shed up and running by the end of 2020 - in preparation for 2021 Show Day!

Volunteers do an amazing amount of work to raise funds and keep community events happening across Gippsland.
So it’s great to be able to give them a hand... today I was proud to announce $250,000 from the Federal Government for a new exhibition and storage shed at the Yarram Showgrounds.
Yarram Agricultural Society treasurer Bec Morton showed me around the old shed this morning. The building has been patched up so many times that it’s now beyond repair and desperately needs replacing.
The Yarram Show is an important event for locals and people from surrounding districts to come together and celebrate their achievements, relax and have some fun.
When it's built later this year, the new exhibition shed will become a valuable community asset, not least for the agricultural society committee members, life members and volunteers who work so hard to put on the Yarram Show each year.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
